Buffalo
Area Transit System Rules
-
Please be pleasant and
courteous to your fellow passengers and to the bus driver. The drivers
are doing their best to serve you. Please address disagreements to
management of the Senior Center.
-
Seat belts must be fastened
before the bus driver starts the bus. This is Federal Law.
Please wait until bus comes to a complete stop before you unfasten your
seat belt. If you stand up from your seat before the bus stops you might
fall.
-
NO smoking or alcohol
on the bus. We do not pick-up or drop off at liquor stores or bars.
-
Make reservations at
least one day in advance when possible.
-
Without at least two
hours notice your service may be delayed.
-
If you are transporting
a pet to the veterinarian, it must be completely restrained.
-
If someone other than
the bus driver gives you a ride home or you start walking, please notify
us. Otherwise the driver spends valuable time looking for you.
-
Sometimes emergency
situations arise at the Senior Center or we have a break down in communications.
Please call the Center if the bus is more than twenty minutes late picking
you up.
-
The Senior Center Bus
is available to anyone regardless of age, though Seniors have first priority.
If you are not a senior and call in for an appointment, you may have to
wait, but we will get to you. Remember, all buses are wheelchair
equipped and have cell phones for quick, efficient dispatching.
-
Donations for rides
on the bus are part of the Matching Funds for Federal Dollars. Your
donations are important for the continued operation of the transportation
program. Suggested donations are $1.00 round trip in city limits
and $2.00 for a round trip up to five miles out. No one will be denied
service because of inability to pay. Even small donations help.
A trip to Sheridan is $5.00.
-
Our drivers have the
right to refuse service to anyone displaying intoxication, using profanity,
any one posing a health hazard, and any other form of offensive behavior.
-
Please check with the
driver to sign in before or after your ride. We have to follow state
guidelines, therefore we need to verify you received the service.
-
Minors under the age
18, must have a parent call to schedule a ride.
